Glad I did the inspection.
I originally tq'd the 625 studs to 136 ft lbs
Driver side. Started at 140, went to 145, Center 2 nuts even at 150 didn't move much if at all. As I went out from center nuts started to break free around 130-135, kept them turning to 150, they turned maybe 1/8 turn max. Went over them again from center none moved the second time around.
Did Passenger side next. Same thing, centers didn't move, but only 2 or 3 of the nuts on that side moved at around 140, the outer edge ones front and back, took all to 150.
The smaller top studs originally tq’d to 25 ft lbs, nine moved even at 28, left them alone.
The Stanky stabilizer system, some collars some of the gaps opened up to .025, some were still at the original .020". Mostly the intakes needed reset to ,020, 6 of 8 exhausts were at .022 max and I left them alone, 2 out to .025 do reset them to .020”. The top cap hold down bolts didn’t move at 40 lbs tq. Not bad for 7000 hard miles. Was worth the 4 hours it took, glad I did it.
Next is another leak down test since it’s easy peasy atm then make it ready to put a blower back on again. Thinking of working over a 2.7 I have and see what I can get out of one verses the Whipples of the last year. Car isn’t any quicker 60-130 so extra power of the 3.8 is really a waste at the moment. I Wish I could get a SDG plate without sending the case in, anyone have any connections with them???
