2 year old oil
You are going to ruin bulls trip if he sees that
BULL's trip will be just fine.
In reality it was the oil that came out in late December that was two years old. Had it analyzed at a lab that does it more in depth than Blackstone, and then had the result analyzed by someone who really knows this stuff.
As it turned out the oil (PUP) was just fine, and said to be good to go for another 3,000 miles or so. And this was not a fluke. Did it on both 'Cats, both with about 550 miles on their oil in those two years. Practically identical results.
I was really just curious if deviating from the must-change-oil-every-six-months mantra had some real life basis, and since the annual December oil change didn't happen in '22 this was my unusual chance to find out.
So, what I suspected all along seems to be correct. If not short tripping the 6.2, or cold starting it during hibernation to impress friends and neighbors, instead making sure the oil gets up to temp whenever starting/driving the car, not changing the oil for two years is nothing. In this case - or two cases - the oil would've most likely been good for another year or two.
Rest easy BULL.
