Some of us been partyin' since 2006!
6.1 was like a big high-revving small block, great top end pull and did well with the 5-speed auto all things considering. SRT engineers said the specs for the cam were a lot like the old school 340, only a little more aggressive. No cylinder de-activation. Huge metal high-rise intake that was beautiful, but heat soaked like a mofo and they did not have a good IAT sensor design so that heat soaked too. SRT engineers did a ton of research and development on the engine. I used to ice my intake down between runs at the drag strip. I had a 300C SRT8, great looking car in its time! Mine sure ran strong, I did run a 12.9@109 with only an air intake, that was on street tires too. Did a 12.5@112 with a tune, still on street tires. Back in 2007/08/09 it was a fast car. Beat so many GTOs, Mustangs, Camaros, CTS-Vs, G8s, Corvettes...etc. Raced it with a baby seat in the back
