So a while back I caught wind of a new "ceramic" coating system from Turtle Wax - which unlike the more commercial and high-end consumer-grade products was supposed to be really user friendly. My boy, Pan (good French Canadian kid) had some really positive things to say - so I ordered some up off Amazon once it became available in Canuckistan. To my excitement it showed up today (a week early!); what I didn't realize is that the detailing spray came in 1 litre containers which is a hell of a deal. The four bottles were about $100 to my door which is very fair. Looking forward to doing a complete once over on the car in the next day or so.

All shined up. Two coats on the paint, one coat on the glass and wheels. Used up about half a bottle, four 12x12 microfiber cloths, and most of my knees and lower back. It isn't any worse to apply than a spray wax - so home gamer approved.

It turned out pretty good, but it is a bit hard to tell on an essentially brand new white car. The "slickness" is there, and improved drastically with the second coat. The two coats gives the car 12 months of protection, but none of the complications of a true ceramic coating if something needs to be rectified in the paint or bodywork.

Top coating it all next year with the detailing spray should be a breeze.

Beautiful! I use f11. It’s ok, pricy as hell. Get the tint, especially on the front

Thanks! I'll tint it next year, but I doubt I'll do the windshield (don't want the ticket).

Very interested in these door sill guards. Are they plastic molded pieces or are they vinyl wrap? Did you cut them out? They look very good and I want them.

Vinyl wrap. Cut them out myself. The product I used has all the details right here on the label:

hah that had to take some time. You even cut radii at all the corners. Looks good!

Maybe an hour or two max start to finish. I used a washer to cut the corners. I recommend doing it on a warm day so the vinyl is more pliable from the beginning - once it warmed up with my heat gun (on low) it was really workable... but the adhesive is heat activated so get it in place first then massage it as needed.

That is one way to eliminate unreliable pumps... it is almost like a pressurized tank makes more sense.
