I need to send mine in. Analysis will probably be “throw the whole car out”

Took almost a month. I hear they're a little backed up right now.

Yeah, that’s why I haven’t been in a rush to send mine. I’m going to use a pump and pump out the sample

Yeah, idk.. first time I've done this. Oil had less than 1200miles 93 reg/spirited driving except a few dyno pulls with ms109. Maybe I need to think about switching

or changing oil more often. This was about 1150 miles and 11 months

Will be interesting to see what mine says, early og hellcat engines had a lot of blow by because of the ring gap
You think later Hellcats had gaps tightened?
I honestly don’t know, with as many of these that are rebuilt you’d think someone would check. More engine builders should make content like that
I posted 2016 factory Hellcat ring gaps when I tore my engine down. IMO they were tight for a supercharged 700hp engine. But probably bang on for that heat generation to close up to only a few thousandth’s once hot and up to running temp. By memory I think gaps where .014” top and .018” second ring. The data is some where in my Fuel Rails thread.

Surprised on the viscosity comment.
Is that the value that Blackstone uses a formula for, rather than an actual test?

There's something that Blackstone uses some sort of algorithm for rather than actually testing. I just don't remember what.

That's why I went with another lab, wanting all the actual results.

Just sent mine in about a week ago. Third change I think (Jim did a couple already) on my 426 stroker. Figure I'll do one a year or so and just see how it's wearing in as time goes on.

Looks like I might have remembered correctly. Did a quick search and found this.

"I sent Blackstone a virgin sample of Audi 0W-30 fully synthetic oil. It was clearly labeled as Virgin 0W-30 oil. As you can see from the report below, they thought it was a 10W-30, but also stated it could be a thick 5W-30 or a thin 0W-40. I wonder what that tech had been smoking.

I have no problem with the cSt 100C being 10.67 (if that's what it really was). But I don't like the fact that they have decided to come up with their own standard for a 30 viscosity oil in the cSt 100C test. They say it should be 9.9-11.9. This is NOT THE SAE STANDARD. According to every source I have consulted, the SAE standard for 30 viscosity oil is 9.3-12.49. According to Blackstone's "30 grade standard", Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30, with a cSt 100C of 12, would be a 40 weight oil.

It should also be noted that the SAE standard cSt 100C for a 40 weight oil is 12.5 to 16.29. So there is absolutely no way this could have been a "thin 0W-40".

In the future, I'm using either Oil Analyzers or Polaris Labs for my oil analysis."

Maybe considered best by many, but not by people that really know this stuff. Which is how I found out.

There's at least one other lab that's both better and less expensive.

I could have sworn we went through this where their written analysis didn’t actually tell you anything (the “other” place)
