Since I'm buying the HP cable I would assume it's qualified for data transfer.
I'd Imagine. IIRC mine came with the standard USB. I purchased some USB-C cables off amazon. I think the only one I had was 3' and it was a pain as my laptop had to sit in my lap vs passenger seat. The ones from amazon were the problematic ones but only the longer ones (8-10') so I bought a set that were for data transfer and have had zero issues.

Here's the cable I purchased; no issues of connectivity whatsoever. Had to purchase a USB C to USB adapter for my older laptop, but other than that, this works perfectly.

It's long enough that I can easily have my laptop on passenger seat (or floor) while data logging, then put laptop on my lap in driver seat. Came in a re-sealable bag, so I keep it coiled up in the bag under the net on my rear seat delete.

So I guess I miss understood. The ZAutomotive double bypass in the trunk does not allow full functions of the VCM scanner. I guess the dash must come apart. OMG!!

Are you sure? I have never had any issues. Why would it not be a full access diagnostic port? I have data logged, read and written tunes with NO issues.

I've also logged and read from the trunk double bypass.

What errors or indications are you seeing?

OK, removed head from butt and figured it out after, I put the HP cable up front. The up front install was not bad at all. I guess I just love abuse. LOL

Why do you say this?

I've done numerous scans; uploaded numerous tunes using the Z bypass and the cable shown above. No issues.

You guys are making me feel much better now. Because the dash was not going to come apart! Now this all seems reasonable to do soon.
