It's not uncommon at all for wimmin around here to have their own pickups.

Heck, my girlfriend has two. And yes, the 1500 cost more than the longbed crew cab 3500 with a Cummins.

Like Ram 3500s. 'Cats, TRXs, V6 Challengers, Kubotas, Can-Ams, and JD Gators. On the surface that may not make any sense, but in real life it kinda does. Each vehicle has its purpose.

For example, if I'm on the road picking up a car (most likely hers) and a horse needs to go to the vet asap, she needs to be able to tow her horse trailer. And my two tractors can do things her two little ones can't, and so on.

The 1/2 tons you guys are referring to are higher trims and are loaded. A Platinum F150 starts at $74k. A Limited F350 with the diesel is over $100k MSRP. $20k in options on an XLT, especially with XLT rebates/discounts is a great truck without the frills and fancy options.

$5000 dealer discount off sticker plus I wrangled another $1700 for the factory extended warranty. So $6700 off the sticker. $74,900 total.

Not as bad as I was thinking once I realized it was a diesel.

Wow, I've never been able to pull that off. Usually it's $5K max, but once they let me pay $10K on the card.

And I understand why. They lose about 3%, while I gain a few percent by putting it on the card.

I tried to pay as much as I could with it.
They only let me charge 15k on the card

Okay, that's more normal. I thought you had managed to convince them to let you pay for the car with a credit card.

One thing I've noticed more recently is that some dealers do pretty much the same credit check as if getting a loan, even when paying with a check. I asked one why, and apparently they'd been burnt a few times, with bogus checks or maybe stop payments on checks.

Guess I can't blame the dealers. People aren't like they used to be.

You mean kinda like this? I had this '18 for about a year. Guess you showed up too late to see it.

Of course, it only looked like that for about a month. After all, I wanted a tow vehicle not a pickup.

Hopefully you have good luck with it. I was just reading today that Ford is still having a lot of quality issues and hence increased warranty costs. Looks nice though.

I don't even think I'm approved over 10g's on my credit card...but then again..can't remember the last time I used it either....not a CC kinda guy..
