Likster I mentioned befoe, I have wurked union, non union, and management. Dis strike is not guud fur either side. Both sides will loose sumtin. I do feel fer both sides, but dis bonus crap is just dat. I waz a biz owner fer 25 years and everyone got a bone us per % ezes of year enden profits frrum all 5 cumpanies. All #s were dare 2 see, butt dat just me. I had da unions attempt to coeinside wit my guys cauze day all came frum locals all ovah da cuntry. I am a tradez mon, worked wit my tools, paid higher, gave health insurance, bone us ces. Unions could not touch this and I waz open. Now dis 25 mil to a CEO just fer a bone us is ree dick u lus. A bo bo nus should be merit but dat is a slap. I loved given extra $$s out so I wood snot have 2 pay taxes on it at da end of da seasun. A wooker wood rather have $25,000 and pay 25% taxez dan a fat $0.

The Jeep plant is not a soft target for Stellantis, it’s their highest profit margin vehicle made in the United States!
The Ford and GM targets I do not know about.

The Wrangler plant? Wrangler sales have been dropping since 2018. They shut down SHAP, where they make 3x the amount of vehicles then the Wrangler, then they really going to feel it fast.

The GM target is for the Canyon/Colorado/Express/Savanna. Decent target, maybe Bowling Green(C8) or Factory Zero(Hummer EV/Silverado EV/Denali EV/Celeste EV) would be ones I would of targeted.

The Ford plant is Bronco/Ranger. That one was pretty good, hard to argue with this one. I would of sent a message and shutdown Flatrock(Mustang) but I guess the best is yet to come

Well if they did their strike like they led people to believe, they would of walked out all the plants at once.

There is like 9k Broncos, brand new, sitting on lots. There isn't 9k 2024 Mustangs or Dark Horses sitting on lots. Kind of hard to send a message to the Big 3 you want "economic justice" and you won't take down a big name vehicle. The Wrangler and Bronco was ok but take down the C8 Corvette, Mustang, or TRX. That'll send a message you are serious

IMO the UAW is like a snake with the head cut off, the body is still wiggling but it's dead, just going thru the motions now.
Membership has plummeted from 1.5M in the late 70's to a paltry ~380k today with almost 600k retirees eating away at the pension $$.
It is not a sustainable model and ever escalating wage & benefit increases will just hasten the automation/off-shoring rush already underway.

The unions have been on a down hill motion cents Reagun fired da air controlers. Lost dare grip. Da last, well kinda sorta, union project I waz employeed at. Dis is weird. Da union, local 69 insulators Lakeland, Fl, wanted me wit dem as a martor, mechanic, and instructor on chillers. They asked me to work dis job at Big Bend power house. I could wurk union or non union. I got da same pay so I choze non. Didn't have to pay dues but got beneezs. I learned alot about a union that I had been stealen employees frum fer ears. All da ole timers were retire en with full benefits while they could. So many goen dat day were taken monies out of da members hourly wagez 2 make up da down fall of moniez day had set back fer this. While I waz dare they took $2.50 out of da members hourly wagez to make up fer dis. I waz snot a member, so I sat back and listened. My 4 ear union helper and da rest were pissed. Instead of raises they were deducting pay. Theses were sons of da ole timers dat wurked wit me years before. So, they had 2 support dem 1 way whore dee utter. Dee helpers were pissed cause day didn't have an apprentice school or any utter whore ganized union activaties. Da BA worked fer me at Seaworld 15 ears befoe, so I knew him and his dad. Thay lost dare bargening power by asken 2 much. I saw dis happen wit 4 differeant unions. Da strike is a power play nobody winz. By by Biden is snow help at all. Ass.

I was doing the math that if the UAW went after the profit the company makes, everyone would get a big check. If the UAW asked for 25% of the annual profit, last year it was 18 billion, that would be about 4.5 billion to be paid to about 40,500 members. Do that math and each Stellantis UAW employee would get roughly $111k per person just in profit sharing checks. Even with a $30 per hour wage cap, someone would have been walking away this year with around $170k in top pay. UPS driver making $150k, NFL players get a 47% share of league revenue, and Stellantis would still make 75% profit

Stellantis told the whole world in 2020 they designed every vehicle to be built off 4 platforms, share as many components as possible to lower development cost, load cars with software microtransactions for more money, and they will have joint ventures to lower production cost. Smells like more profit they need to come off of.

The government EPA mandates for electric cars and higher cafe standards is killing the auto industry. Every car manufacturer is bleeding cash and the unions are now afraid of losing their jobs because it takes less manpower to assemble these cars. Manufacturers won't take it and will move their operations to where labor costs are cheaper. They need to wake up to the inevitable and learn how to code just like those elites in the government tell the coal miners and folks in the gas industry. Then listen to them bitch about how they are moving their jobs out of the country.

Don't forget about the investors that have bought stock in the company. Those whiny employees could have invested too, but they just want another welfare check for the easy work they do or the lack of it ! 4 day workweek but get paid for 5 in what world do they live in ? Sounds like they would be happier living in a communist society but then they would just find something else to bitch about.

Vehicles built today have so much more technology to them.
The equipment used along the assembly line still needs a person to ensure it is working right.
I would imagine there are highly skilled workers who should be paid executive rates and are not. And why not?

Even the easiest job needs to be done correctly, but that doesn't mean executive rates.

Part of what they are striking about is they don't want Temp workers. Could the reason be, "WE" know about the recalls and wonder why does this happen?

You know why temp workers were brought in? Because attendance was so bad on Monday/Friday that they had a hard time running the operation. The UAW has no one to thank but themselves for that.

The UAW feels they’re entitled and normal rules shouldn’t apply to them. Always have. The bigwigs will always make more than they should and the top tier UAW members are making decent money. But it’s never enough. Now the temps and 2nd tier? Yeah they’re getting boned and part of that was so that in previous contracts the top tier workers could get theirs. Lots of hard workers in the UAW but lots of dead weight too. And it’s the dead weight that gives the UAW the bad rep. I agree the hourly deserve raises but be careful what you ask for because past performance doesn’t guarantee future returns. In a few years when all the profits have dried up because of money losing EVs they’ll be looking for another bailout. Hopefully both sides can iron out a deal and be happy.
