The line to line coating takes the piston to cylinder clearance to super tight and then it wears to fit. To do this you have to spec the motor with that in mind. I see where it is used to bring a loose piston up to spec to keep from sleeving or replacing the piston. They make a case for it when you watch the videos. Not sure it’s worth the added cost (whatever it is for that stuff) on a new build. I have coated pistons in my current motor but didn’t pull the trigger on that for the new one just due to the question whether it’s worth the cost with a high quality piston. It ain’t cheap.
