Got the custom idler pulley (to increase belt wrap) made and the Hurst line lock plumbed. Also got the power windows working. The list is getting short now 🥳
I won’t say never, but unlikely. Vegas is only two hours away for open test and tune and Tucson is over 600 miles. As far as the year goes…. I have two events at Vegas (SCSN and MATS), two in Bakersfield (Redlist), the Legions in Houston, one in Boise Idaho (Night of Fire), possibly one MSHS race in Topeka, plus the 1/8 mi at Irwindale to play around once in a while. There’s a chance I’ll be on the track there for the shakedown next Thursday night. There are some mouthy guys out there in Commifornia 😂
That car is ready to run, but…. It is now owned by Adam Montague (Spankintime Motorsports). The whole point of me securing that car was to try to keep it in the shop where it was built. The previous owner (Brian Felter) is a friend and we worked a deal to keep it in house. Adam will continue to improve on the build and it will be on the track with mine at the Redlist series race in Bakersfield, Calif in December. We will also be at the Legions race again in Houston in January. We have some big big stuff going on. Just secured one of the first spots for the limited 3.8 Whipple and are planning on ruling the blower only Hellcat world.
Lol. These Holley EFI Digital Dash’s can be configured any way you want. I could put a picture of my dogs face on there. Those screen configurations are just one of the base setups. We’ll be changing that.
I wonder if you could have went with a griptec pulley and not use the adjustable idler pulley? You are making way more power but I'm not seeing any slip with the 3.00 pulley on my Whipple

The 3.0 is just there to get everything comfortably dialed in (including suspension tuning) before moving to the 2.75 and 25+ lbs. Sort of batting practice before swinging for the fence. That idler was a result of experience with the blue car and proved to be helpful. When we go to the smaller pulley, it’s going to need all the wrap we can get. Before this thing gets figured out we’ll be replacing it with the 3.8 Whipple. That thing is going to be a whole mother monster. There’s only 10 of them and we got one. Hold on to your hats 😵💫
Marc I tuned a car weighing 4650 with driver 2.75 and 10 percent lower and only a high 1.3 60 car went 8.7s. He dropped to a 2.65 and we made some other tweaks and went 8.57 and another high 1.3. This was the beginning of August so DA was no good.
Needless to say you are a 1000 pounds lighter. Once the car is dialed in and in the Texas air I will be surprised if you arent well into the 7s with just the blower.

That’s what we’re hoping for. I already went 1.19 sixty with the car at approx 4200 lbs and Brian in the blue one went consistent 1.20 last year at Houston last year with a best of 1.19 with the rear wheels! He ran a 8.09 and I think we will be faster. Those .10’s are a lot harder to come by at this level so I don’t want to be shooting my mouth off.
