That is a nice design - very curious to see how durable it is...thanks for being our test guinea pig (again), because I know you will not be easy on it (y)

If it works and holds up, I'm in.

I just looked at their site. Looks like they offer a fixed ring "clutched" pulley for $499 and an interchangeable ring "clutched" pulley for $799. Rings are $200 each. Kinda pricey but hey you pay for convenience I guess. I wouldn't mind a 3.10 for the street and a 2.74 for the track.

I haven't read anything that says that fixed pulley broke a supercharger. There are companies that rebuild superchargers that sell fixed pulleys. If they thought they damaged them I don't see them selling them. Superchargers have always had fixed pulleys until the Hellcat came out.

I have seen many decoupler pulleys break and damage the supercharger though
Have you ever read Jon Bonds warranty clauses for his rebuilds, solid pulleys a no no on IHI blowers

The 799 price includes 1 ring of your size choice, extra rings are 200 each. Christmas special I got mine for around 550 with the 2.74 ring.

I don't know who that is. Maybe saying that because of what factory uses?

I can say one thing. Way way more static pulleys then litens on a smaller pulley car. I have seen and heard more falirurs of the failing litens taking the snout out with it than I have seen from just a snout going bad because a static pulley was used.
I get the point. I get it’s a good idea. But I don’t think one can just say if you use a static pulley you will have a supercharger or snout failure.

Bond has been rebuilding superchargers for 20+ years, all kinds from cars to industrial giant ones. Here’s his warranty clause on a IHI rebuild

The “Rotor Timing issue” is the key issue a decoupling pulley helps prevent.

The way that warranty reads a litens isn’t covered either. Could be any smaller pulley spinning the blower harder.

He is ok with smaller pulleys as long as they are of a decoupling variety.

It says factory not factory style. Legally speaking he could deny anything he wanted that wasn’t factory

That he could and he’s not the nicest guy sometimes, he’s in business to make money not give it away, his own words.
Having these blowers apart and seeing what holds them in time, a small ring about the size of a large man’s wedding ring I fully understand why IHI used a decoupling pulley. If the timing could be pinned, which some shops say they do but pinning the driven rotor and getting its timing just right gots ta be a bitch.
