NHRA is dying.

The rest of the sport has never been better. Car counts are through the roof. Many times you have to buy your tech card months in advance just to try andqualify. Other events have waiting lists miles long.

Tracks are closing. Economically makes zero sense to top or even compete with d170 for struggling oems.

losts of fast cars coming for sure. Most ev. None will be ice super drag cars.
You can 📚 that.

You are way out of the loop here. Cars are getting even faster. The aftermarket is designing, building selling pretty much everything needed to race.

Some tracks have closed. It's always the best managed ones who win. New tracks are being built. Abandoned tracks are being reopened.

Again. Car counts are through the roof. NHRA national events are no longer the king events of drag racing. Events like TX2K, FL2K, World Cup Championship are the new huge events bringing racers from around the world. Drag and Drive is another exploding part of drag racing. Don't forget pro bracket racing where they're racing for millions per event.

EVs are going nowhere. Just check the "green" stocks. They've lost an average of 34% in value the past year. Institutional buyers are bailing. Automakers are pulling back. Some Automakers are going to end up like the poorly managed drag strips. Out of business.

The sport is definitely evolving. Where the NHRA used to be it…. Now events like the SCSN out west, the Imports vs Domestics out East, the Pro 275, LDR, Pro Mods in a number of sanctions across the country are booming. You have to qualify to even qualify. The closing of Phoenix has been cancelled and the NHRA is back there next year. Topeka closed but is now up for sale with the facility intact. The new super track in Missouri is going to open. Several of the events out here sell out the racer tickets and you have to get in early or you have to find somebody with a ticket to sell. I don’t see a lack of interest. The problem is civilization closing in on the tracks and property values creating a more profitable use for the land.

Cleetus just did a video about development being built right next door to Bradenton and Freedom Factory. Sounds like he's thinking about 2-3 years left. The ground has already been broken.

He's talking about moving further east out into the middle of the state where it's very rural. I would assume they would move together. His house is now surrounded by developments. When he bought it was nothing but fields and open land. Just in the past 3 years I have seen the place explode with residential and commercial developments.

I would like that since it would be closer to me.

I thought Cleet petitioned the city and won, and developer has to include a "race track" clause in any home sale contract stating people can't complain to the city about buying a house next to a race track?

The world of fast is so accessible now it is on fire. It doesn’t take a Top Fuel budget and sponsorship to go fast anymore. Look at the Pro Mod turnout at Bradenton. Fast cars are still a lot of money but at a level where there are still a lot of people willing and able to do it. Hell!! We got Hellcats in the sevens now and a bunch of people looking at doing that as a goal. I’ve got a friend out in California that’s got a Real Steel Class LS swapped Fox Mustang that just ran 7.00 at 200 mph. Drag racing has never been hotter than it is now.

It's only for portion of the development going on. The parcels directly butting up to them but not the ones behind those developments and across the highway don't have any agreement.

He lives a couple of miles from the track and he hears it there. There's going to probably be a couple thousand homes between his house and the track.

There's so many car events these days that you just can't keep up. Every Saturday and Sunday I can pick from 5-10 different cars and coffee to attend.

Huge events like Hot Rod Power Tour, Cruising the Coast, etc brings in thousands of cars.

Turkey Day Rod Run in Daytona Beach this year was the largest I can remember.

These events used to be classic, basically stock appearing and powered cars. Not anymore.

Wishcasting OEMS do what we (the extreme ICE HP minority) want them to do is foolhardy. Logic be damned the planet is moving to EVs whether you, me, or anyone else likes it. And you are right EVs are going nowhere! Sure some new ICE will be built but you can kiss the thought of any NEW HP SC V8's being produced goodbye! I don't think I'm the one out of the loop as far as what manufacturers will invest in going forward. All-out SC HP ICE drag cars? Come on now...

Again, you are missing my point. Less about tracks and events (I'll grant you that) and all about OEMS and the politics and regulatory environment associated with building SC ALL ICE drag strip monsters.

I'll offer you a standing $250 bet.

There won't be another NEW ALL ICE car with greater than 1025HP, faster than 0-60 1.66s and 1/4 mile time of 8.9s (all 3 must be met).

I'll let you set the expiration date for the bet (2030 MY?)...open-ended means we can never settle, lol...

Oh and no hybrids, EVs, hydrogen, etc. And no boutique manufacturers are allowed.
(1000 cars built minimum).

So we got a bet?

No arguments about the public loving and celebrating fast and beautiful cars. Unfortunately, it's unrelated to the financial/political/regulatory reality regarding what OEMS will invest in and build going forward...

Look for a SUPER fast golf cart EV/HYBRID FLEET coming our way in the next few years...

Are you excited yet !?? :p

Hey, on the bright side, at least we will still have MILLIONS of OLD HP ICE to celebrate and enjoy for decades to come!

Let's make it 1,000 horsepower even without any electric assistance besides a possible electric supercharger?

Please remind me when it happens since I'll forget about this in a couple of days.

Once Trump's re-elected in 2024 things can go back to normal. Drill baby drill.

It's about the money and it's rolling out of the ev crap. Prices are getting slashed across the board on new ones. Resale on used ones are in the toilet.

These cars only work for city use or a limited commute. Americans still love to drive their cars across this beautiful country.

"Regulations" don't work if not acceptable to the masses. The American people have spoken about how they feel about evs. They're not buying them. It was a short lived trend.

Heard on the news this morning Ford is expected to lose $4B (with a B) this year on EVs and has cut production 50% on the lightening and has notified dealers of same.

You have more faith in reversing global politics than I do. Europe is set in stone. Asia too. Incentives wont evaporate from our govt anytime soon. Elon wont allow it lol

Whats next, everyone will forget about global climate change because the ICE guys deem it to be BS/"nothing to see here"?
I get what you are saying, I'm just saying it wont matter and no one will be putting the toothpaste back in the bottle overnight. Maybe 10-15 years from now? After trillions in global investment in EV infrastructure, I doubt it. Not sure how you lived this long and still think the government can ACT QUICKLY. It doesn't. Ever.
