Doesn’t have to be a mopar shop either. There are plenty of shops, it’s way more common with the exotic /porche/sport car world. Those shops offer concierge service more often. Considering most of those pussies don’t want to chip their nails or know what a catalytic converter is

Well you've covered the expenses, and the experience is worth something, but not everything...

So if you're really looking for someone that doesn't fall into the "Bud Dues" category, then you need to offer up either some cash, or some trade.

Question is, how much?

Again, the experience is worth some part of what happens, so $20/hr?

I know when I've done the Standing Mile events I heavily relied on my buddys for Bud Dues, and there were many, so I'd I had to pay, I'd be poor...

Wife
Brother (and his family)
Daughter (and her family)
Two buddies

Oh, and the dog too...

Sure, I could have done it without anybody, but what's the fun in that?

How much did you pay the dog?

go hit the race tracks and make friends.
That's a great idea, I'm going to tweet that to all my Facebook friends.

Seriously, have you thought about posting a note or cool flyer at the track?

Go to some local mod shops. I know my guy in Stuart when they weren’t so busy, they had customers that paid them and they basically had the car prepped for them, brought to the track. The customers fly in or drive in from out of town, they show up at the track, rip on their car, they leave and go home and the shop takes care of the car and storing, wrenching etc.

Might be what your looking for. That would be the professional route.

otherwise make friends, offer plenty of beer, time away from their wives, and tasty food. Chance to hang around race cars, Plenty of dudes would be down for that.
Not many shops local to me. You would think that Daytona Beach area would have a bunch.

I don't think that there's anywhere that people would see it. OSW is over an hour away.

there should be plenty of shops in the Orlando area. I’m thinking this is a solid route for you to take.

look for performance shops in the Daytona and Orlando area.

Apparently I need to tag my sarcasm.

Isn't there one or more of those schools near Daytona like Wyotech, UTI, or another of those big auto mechanics schools?
I think Embry-Riddle has an aviation technology school in that area. If you can snag a few people from there they will (should) at least have some attention to detail.

You could talk to the instructors and see who they could recommend from their student body.

The car schools have closed.

I'm willing to pay someone to get things organized, find events to attend within a reasonable distance and setup everything to go racing.
Then take care of everything at the track.
Leaves me to focus on the race itself, to relax between rounds and enjoy what I'm doing.

Ok.....here's how to solve your problem quick and easy.

Go to your local higher end strip joint. Find 2 of the hottest girls in there. Pay them just to show up at the track in short shorts and bikini tops, and have them hang around your pit area. Let them mess around with the jack or something and act like they are your pit crew. In very short order you will have a group of guys offering to help them.....for free.

then make some calls. I’m sure you can find a shop that can cater to your needs

Interesting thread. I agree it's work to get a car prepped, race, and keep it ready for the next round, but that's part of it for me. I've met a ton of people and made some long lasting friendships from events. I'd just find a buddy you can work together with. Crew Chief Greg and I help each other and we race in different classes so that's possible.

Just showing up and driving with a paid crew may have folks raising some eye brows and may cause you to not have as much fun as you might otherwise. This is grass roots racing not the NHRA after all.

My .02 cents.
