Noisy, yes by choice, but smelly???

Sure didn't smell bad the time I ran out of gas and ended up having to use olive oil as a 2-stroke mix.
And there was some normal 2-stroke oil that also smelled very good.
WTF Jimmie...Olive oil..GTF outta here...and it ran:unsure::unsure::unsure:...let me guess..ya grease yer pizza pans with WD-40...

Well, it wasn't by choice. Stranded along a road a car eventually stopped, he had gas but obviously not 2-stroke oil. Had Italian or Greek plates as I recall, so I wasn't surprised when he pulled out a can of olive oil from the trunk, with a big grin. Major language barrier, too, by the way.

Figgered I'd stop at the first gas station I saw and dump that concoction, but the bike ran just fine so I used the tank up.

WD-40? I wouldn't use that stuff even on your squeaky joints, let alone something that matters.

I have various versions of the Blackvue 2ch cameras.

(A main head unit with a 2nd slave unit, it automatically records 2 streams from the two units, each independently viewable)

I'm not sure how much I do or don't recommend Blackvue as a whole. When they first came out, for me the appeal was the physical form factor. The performance was by comparison good relative to others, but still didn't, or also still doesn't live up to my expectations.

This is a fun link to my first Blackvue (Hellcat)

My second Blackvue (Power Wagon)

M6's are sooo much fun. And with any HC, it sucks to have to hit the brakes at the top of the entrance ramp!

Do these cams have an easily accessible ON/OFF switch?

If it does have a simple OFF switch, are the cloud capable one's still sending data to the cloud when you shut it OFF?

Otherwise, the cam is documenting YOU as well as traffic ...

Unplug it.
And you’re right, another device recording you… but it’s also recording your wife, so if you want to win that fight when you get home you can pull the tape and play it back for her.

Unplugging it would then mean anyone could unplug it, as opposed to it being hardwired which is what I was thinking.

I guess I'm just not there yet with this dash cam stuff.

Regarding the wifey thing, my experience is that you'll lose the argument anyways ... dash cam or no dash cam!
(hope you have a comfortable couch )

That is true...2 strokes were noisy..smelly...but a ton of fun...had a 500cc Kawasaki 2 stroke for a couple of years back in the day...light and remarkably fast...till I melted pistons down to the wrist pins :p:p:p

Idk guess it depends on how you drive. With a dash cam there's a record of you and your actions. I know I drive the work truck alot differently than my own car. I ended up not putting my dashcam in unless I'm at the track. Less clutter in the car.

No dash cams here...(no reason why)..I've adopted a new tactic for arguments these days..I just tell bold faced blatant lies (in the face of evidence)...my wife is a clean freak...she says I'm a pig...I leave clothes wherever..dishes..coffee cups...the clothes dishes..and whatever else are in plain view...I just deny all of it...It's drivin her nuts...I just chuckle...:giggle::giggle::giggle:;)

The primary reason for mine is to defend myself, while I’m driving. I’ve also used it to catch dealers joyriding my Hellcat. They were so worried about doing burnouts they didn’t seem to notice the screen in front of them recording their conversation.
The one in my truck is plugged into the power port on the back of my center console. Looks like a phone charger, nobody looks at it twice and the wires are all tucked under carpet and behind plastic. I want to be able to unplug it as well, just in case I’m doing something I don’t want recorded.
